LETROZOLE FEMARA :
Treating infertility with letrozole (femara) is something that has been going
on for a while. Femara, or Letrozole, is a drug that was popularized for its use
in treating breast cancer. Researches have since found that treating infertility
with Letrozole is also possible.
Letrozole is known as a drug that blocks the
production of aromatase. Aromatase is an enzyme that helps the body produce
estrogen. When there is too much estrogen in the system, it impedes the
pituitary gland’s role in producing the hormones that help the ovaries produce
the eggs.
There are some side effects of treating infertility with Letrozole. First,
there is some controversy as to what the best dosage amount is. What that means
is that there is a potential that the doctor will unknowingly prescribe an
amount that is too much for your body. This can be one of the reasons why
certain side effects would be present. Another reason why there would be side
effects is because the point of the drug is to inhibit estrogen production. The
absence of estrogen can cause problems. These problems include breast
tenderness, hot flashes, and headaches.
